Treatment of open femoral fractures

Abstract

Open femoral fractures are a serious problem of the traumatology of our country. There is no consensus about osteosynthesis techniques for these fractures. Some authors suggest treatment with external fixators only, others — to use consecutive osteosynthesis. The primary, delayed intramedullary osteosynthesis of open femoral fractures has been analyzed by us, as well as treatment of
these injuries using external fixators.
