Transposition of fibular fragments according to the Ilizarov method in rehabilitation of the injured persons with «acute» diaphyseal tibial defects

Abstract

The original approach to leg weight-bearing restoration according to the Ilizarov method is described for the “acute” diaphyseal tibial defect present. The potentials of transosseous osteosynthesis in treatment of severe leg tissue destructions are demonstrated: the transosseous osteosynthesis allows to make radical debridement of soft-tissue and bone wounds creating “comfort” conditions for tissue defect filling at the expense of fibular transposition at a single stage of treatment.
