The reconstructive-and-plastic surgical treatment of calcaneus chronic osteomyelitis complicated by foot soft tissue collapse

Abstract

Chronic calcaneus osteomyelitis makes up 7-8% of the all cases of bone osteomyelitis, and there are its special forms, which are difficult from correction point of view. The problems related to development and substantiation of the original reconstructive-and-plastic method of surgical treatment which increase its effectiveness in case of the risk of irreversible scarry corrugation of integumentary tissues above calcaneus bone defect are considered in the work.
