Journal "Orthopaedic Genius" was established in 1995 in Kurgan.

Since 2008 the journal has been included in the list of leading peer-reviewed scientific journals and publications of the Higher Attestation Commission, in which scientific works of applicants for academic degrees of doctors and candidates of sciences should be published.in the scientific specialty "Traumatology and Orthopedics".

Since 2017 the journal is indexed by the international database Scopus.

At the moment the journal is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the access model is Diamond (completely free for both authors and readers).

The journal's publications are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution - Share Alike (CC BY-SA) license, which allows others to rework, modify and develop the work, even for commercial purposes, provided that authorship is indicated and derivative works are licensed under similar conditions.
